Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. .....We are all meant to shine, as children do.... It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we subconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
I watched a movie, one of the kids in it says this. It hit me hard. So often we don't do things because we are afraid. What is it we are afraid of? Are we really afraid of failing or in some way are we also afraid of suceeding? If we suceed is there an expectation that we will do the same again? And then what if we don't? Someone might see our true colors? Let me ask you my dear friend, what are your true colors? Are they really ugly and dark or are they beautiful and bright? I thought Jesus came and died. He did that right? And took our shame, our fear, our punishment.
1 Peter 2:9&10 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Who does God say you are?
